Acer palmatum
'Beni otake'

Sun/Part Shade
10' tall x 8' wide in 10 years
Hardy to -20 degrees USDA zone 5 – 8

The name translates to red bamboo, which aptly describes this maple from the linearilobum group. The leaves are a little wider and sturdier than other linearilobum maples. Foliage emerges medium red in spring holding its color well throughout summer. Fall color is a really nice crimson. The distinctive look and its ability to tolerate full sun even in warmer climates make 'Beni otake' a perennial favorite.
